The Great Man Made River Stadium is an old velodrome in the city of Tripoli reoriented to host a football field. It was in a critical condition: parts of the roof were falling, threatening spectators’ security.
We conceived a modern configuration to furbish this particular stadium basing our design on the preexisting architectural foundations. A master plan was studied to solve circulation and fulfill security criteria as well as to create a commercial zone all along the main road in order to take maximum advantage of the excellent situation of the plot.
